Job Description:
Position Summary:  
The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate recording of all revenue-related transactions in accordance with GAAP. The Senior Revenue Accountant is expected to be proficient in software revenue recognition in a multi-element environment and must have strong overall leadership and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, have an excellent working knowledge of excel and Oracle, and be able to use data driven analytics to drive sound business decisions. This position reports to the Director, Revenue & Financial Strategy.

Requirements:
Essential Responsibilities:  
-Supervise month, quarter, and year-end Revenue accounting close functions  
- Develop, propose and implement revenue recognition policies and methodologies in conformance with current FASB and SEC guidance (including EITF 9-3 and 8-1)  
- Proactively research technical revenue issues, and keep abreast of developments in revenue accounting literature, including those arising from IFRS convergence, and advise management on the potential impact  
- Review customer agreements to determine the appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with revenue recognition accounting standards and identify issues to be addressed with Sales, Legal and other key stakeholders  
- Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue/expense streams to ensure proper revenue recognition  
- Prepare monthly revenue reports for management which includes variance analysis of revenue accounts and associated expense accounts against prior periods, budget and forecast  
- Assist in quarterly and annual audits and ongoing management/analysis of VSOE and SOX  
- Preparation and completion of ad hoc projects and tasks  
 
Skill Requirements:  
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting required (CPA and MBA preferred)  
- 5 - 7 years of related financial and accounting experience in a software environment  
- Proficient knowledge of SOP 97-2, SOP 81-1 and SAB 101 and other software accounting literature  
- Excellent excel skills (testing may be requested)  
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills  
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently  
- Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment  
- Experience with Oracle 11i
